The Pilates Method, which has gained huge popularity in recent years, is recognised by both fitness educators and the medical profession as a safe and highly beneficial movement programme. The Pilates Method allows each individual to work at their own pace. Consequently it has much to offer both to students using it as an injury rehabilitation tool and to those simply wishing to improve their overall fitness. Pilates movements strengthen the core muscles creating greater stability in the trunk. Weak muscles are strengthened, short muscles are lengthened and joint stability and mobility are increased. The result is a posturally enhanced form with long lean muscles. Pilates is taught at The Studio in the following formats:
